Statement from Andy Gleason, Village of Black Creek President

Contract Status with Black Creek Rescue Service

Since the fall of 2025, the Village of Black Creek Board has been deliberating a contract extension for EMS service with Black Creek Rescue Service. It is important to state that the existing Agreement from the previous period does remain in effect as neither party gave timely notice to terminate and therefore it extends under the existing terms. That said, the Village Board is in ongoing discussions with all involved to reach a mutually agreeable modified Agreement. During this ongoing process the Village Board has insisted on contract enhancements which provide accounting controls to monitor the use of public funds which were previously lacking. As a public body the Village Board has a duty to ensure public funds are properly spent and accounted for. I do not want to compromise the ongoing discussions by detailing the specifics of the negotiations, but be assured we at the Village are working on the matter for the best interests of the citizens of the Village. As Village President, I am deeply appreciative of the service provided by the dedicated EMS personnel while we work through this process. I want to acknowledge and thank the public for expressing their concern regarding this matter. Please be assured that we are committed to providing this essential service to the community as we move forward.
